Invention at Play is great website that allows students to explore and play with their own ideas. This site is created from the Lemelson Center for the Study of Invention and Innovation and in part with the Smithsonian’s National Museum of American History. All three of these sites are great for elementary student learning and research. Inside Invention at Play students will get creative using visual thinking, problem solving, tinkering, and collaboration. One of the coolest things on this site is that on the home page there is an inventors sketchbook. Here students can doodle anything they would like or draw out a quick idea that comes to mind. I encourage you to pass this site onto your students.
