How can elementary teachers make sure their students are searching the internet safely?  My answer to that question is complicated but I want to share one resource in this post.  KidRex is a great place to have elementary students search the internet.  KidRex is a very safe search that allows kids to browse the internet with a custom Google search that emphasizes kid-related webpages.  No filter is 100% however, KidRex is one of the best at checking all keywords and URLs.  If you or your students happen to find a website on KidRex that is inappropriate there is a removal request tool that is pretty straight forward.  I would suggest any elementary educator to use a site like KidRex so students can have more protection and narrowed  researching.
