I found this creative writing activity this weekend.  It’s called The Story Kitchen by Bruce Van Patter.  This site is a story generator that will help your students get a fun, quick start to writing their own stories.  Students pick 3 ingredients: a Hero, Place, and Villain.  This will generate the beginning of a story.  Most stories are a high third to fourth grade reading level but could easily be used as a whole class project or read aloud to younger students.  The Story Kitchen also has a list of all the story starters the generator can produce.  I encourage you to check this creative writing site out soon!
