Field Trip app from Google

I recently downloaded the FREE Field Trip iPhone app from Google and I was thinking about how this app could be used with students.  I recently did a blog post about Virtual Field Trip & Tours and I thought this app should have been included.  Field Trip can run on your iPhone in the background so when you get near to something interesting this app will let you know.  The Field Trip app can help you learn about everything from local history to the latest and best places to shop, eat, and have fun. You select the local feeds you like and the information pops up on your phone automatically, as you walk next to those places.  I included some screenshot below of my own iPhone Field Trip app.  Most of the content that this app brought up, around me at the time, was from the North Dakota State Capital in Bismarck, ND.  I think this app would be really neat to use with a classroom or school that implements a BYOD program.  Then students could find each location at the State Capital and then students would have information about whatever they are looking at in the palm of their hands.  If you want to download this app just click on the app icon or hyperlinked text above.
